A useful hint from Mike:
Space is as always an issue, especially in modern British homes. This is why you seldom see rooms as drawing room, games room and libraries in modern houses and homes. But, a lot of British houses are rather old, and there are still people living in houses from eleventh century or sometimes even earlier, so it’s nice to at least have an understanding of all the different rooms. If you’re visiting someone’s home I suggest you start by listening to your hosts and noting how they refer to their rooms, and then using the same words as they do.
